1.) Explain who your character is and how they play into the story. The character that I drew is Kubo's very distant Grand Daughter. While the legends that her Grand Father used to tell have been long forgotten... She still hold's them close, telling anyone who are willing to listen. Aside from preserving her family history, she can commonly be found listening to music, playing her guitar, and even writing stories of her own. 2.) Explain your process to make this character. In order to draw this character, I had to do a lot of tracing and editing. The original, base model of the character came from Jason Clement's illustration tab. It started off as the line art for a girl in a hoodie. Titled, "Adidas Girl," the line art seemed to be incomplete. With that in mind, I used Photoshop and Gimp to complete the line art. After finishing the base, I started adding additional details such as a shoulder bag, a set of headphones, and a heart pattern on the front of the hoodie. 3.) What things do you find successful and what might you change for next time. The most successful part of the drawing would definitely have to be the additions I made. It was hard for me to do the headset, but when I was able to do so, it turned out great! I only wish that I will be able to draw something from scratch! |
