It is the beginning of a new year and what a better way to start it than with a different perspective?
In Mrs. Purtee's Art I Class, we have started off the year by learning how to apply perspective in an artistic manner. We started with drawing shapes with Vanishing Points. This technique allows us as artists to make an otherwise two-dimensional drawing appear three-dimensional.
For the Perspective and Vanishing Point drawing, we learned how to draw cubes in various orientations, make them hollow, and utilize shading to further the depth perception of our drawings, and different formations of cubes. We were able to create some very interesting pieces.

Another form we became familiarized with was Perspective Photography. For this assignment, we used Forced Perspective by taking photographs of each other posed in different angles and positions. Forced Perspective Photography is all about positioning and timing when interacting with your environment. We all came up with different ideas for our photographs and we posted them on Twitter. It was a very educational experience, entertaining... and goofy in some cases...
