1.) What are some different ways to interpret line? What did you learn by thinking of line from different perspectives?
When learning how to interpret line, I learned that the essence of line is existent in any and every piece of artwork. Every piece of art starts with just one line. The presence of line exists in an extremely large range from simple as drawing a cube, to as complex as 3D modeling and rendering in the form of vectors. Each individual line that finds its way into the artwork gives a detail it didn’t have before. It’s like a coloring book. The only difference is that the outline is being made by you, and colored by you.
2.) How do you feel about your final piece of artwork for this unit? What do you like or dislike about it?
I feel that my final piece was fairly random at best. It started off as seven lines and turned into a big fluffy, feathery something. Even I don’t know what it is. I liked that I was able to get a kickstart on the project by using simple patterns. Each of the feathery branches started as a simple curved or arched line. The most annoying part of the project is that I can’t figure out what it is!
